**The Eastern Trail Gap Is Finally Closed! 🎉** After more than a decade of planning, fundraising, and construction, a key segment of the Eastern Trail between South Portland and Scarborough is finally complete. The gap is officially closed! Let’s go check it out and celebrate this exciting milestone! 🚶‍♀️🌲 We’ll meet in the parking lot at the Wainwright Sports Complex, off Highland Avenue in South Portland, and walk the trail from there. The route includes both paved and gravel sections. The bridge over the train tracks has a steep incline, but the surface itself is flat. The walk is 3 miles and not designed to include dogs.
