About this event
The Native Peoples, Native Plants Symposium celebrates cultural relationships between Native American peoples and native plants. Through workshops led by local Native American plant knowledge keepers, participants will explore and celebrate cultural uses, traditions, and relationships among a variety of native plants and the people who have been tending to and using these plants since time immemorial. This symposium aims to increase awareness of Indigenous plant knowledge and practices, highlight the deep and ongoing relationships between plants and people, and uplift Indigenous perspectives on the cultural uses of plants both in North Carolina and beyond.
