MUSK

Elon Musk is one of the most powerful and controversial figures in the world. Once widely celebrated as a visionary entrepreneur pushing the boundaries of electric vehicles, space exploration and technology, his influence now extends far beyond his companies, into government, public discourse, and global politics. Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney’s new documentary Musk, which premiered at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival, looks behind the mythology and public persona surrounding Musk and examines how he accumulated such extraordinary influence. The film gives us plenty to discuss: What happens when immense wealth, technological power, political influence and control over information become concentrated in the hands of one person? How should we weigh innovation against accountability? And what does Musk’s rise tell us about the power we have given technology billionaires in modern society? Please watch the film on your own before the meetup. The film opens in theaters on October 15 and will only be available to watch in theaters. It is not yet available for streaming. Note that the film runs approximately 4 hours.
