Join us for NOMA’s Musical Encounters Gallery Talk series, where local musicians and scholars host conversations connecting their practice to works on view in the museum’s collection. David Sigler will lead this month’s Musical Encounters program, which will be focused on works on view in the exhibition Sèvres Magnifique: French Porcelain from the Collection of Thomas B. Lemann, found in the second floor decorative arts galleries. Included with museum admission, which is free for Louisiana residents every Wednesday courtesy of The Helis Foundation’s Art for All initiative. When you arrive at NOMA, check in at the admissions desk for directions to the appropriate location. No registration is required for this event series. About the Performer David Sigler is an American guitarist and composer. He began his musical training at the age of 13. His formal studies led him to Columbus State University, where he studied guitar performance under Dr. Andrew Zohn and performed in master classes with David Russell, Sergio Assad, Paul Galbraith, and Jason Vieaux. He has placed in several international guitar competitions, including 1st place in the 2010 Mississippi Guitar Festival and 1st place in the 2024 Elías Barreiro Young Artists Competition. David holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of New Orleans and a Master of Music in Performance from Loyola University New Orleans, where he studied under Dr. Jay Kacherski. David is a founding member of the New Orleans Guitar Quartet and the experimental avant-rock ensemble Primpce. He resides in New Orleans, where he works as a performer, recording artist, and guitar instructor at Tulane University. See All Upcoming Gallery Talks
