Musical: Come From Away

Our member, Ruth has proposed seeing an uplifting musical that might lift spirits. The musical was inspired by Jim DeFoe's 2002 book "The Day the World Came to Town". The production documents the week after the September 11 attacks, when 38 planes carrying nearly 7,000 passengers were unexpectedly diverted to Gander International Airport, located on an island in Newfoundland, when the US airspace was shut down. Gander served as an airstrip during World War II and then a refuelling station. The residents of a town of 10,000, came together to take care of the passengers who couldn't get home. The local bus drivers agree to end their strike to transport passengers. \*\*\* Please note that I established this for September 19th, but if September 20th is more convenient, let us know\*\*\* I will defer to Ruth for ticketing coordination.
