About this event

$15 admission / 7:30 doors / standing / all ages Three music projects explore moody aspects of folk, darkwave and ritual, shamanic sounds and vocals. Featuring Winds of Alluria, Shadowmerge, and Ajda the Turkish Queen. Double-click to edit... WINDS OF ALLURIA Enchanting female vocals from Eurasian Shaman Khaluna Kam. Together with Totem Faehy's incredible throat singing and natural connection to animism, he brings an element sound balance. Heavy ritual ancestral sounds, authentic shamanic vocals, throat and overtone singing, and kulning. Their unique vocal abilities create a memorable journey of sound rooted in ancient traditions of ritual and lore. https://windsofalluria.bandcamp.com/ SHADOWMERGE Shadowmerge is the latest project from veteran Boston guitarist Doug Vargas and singer/poet Marlene Tholl. This ambient darkwave collaboration explores the evolution of ethereal alternative rock, poetry, and song — a moody mix of Vargas' atmospheric guitar and Tholl's haunting vocals and emotionally charged spoken word. This Lilypad performance marks the release of their new EP, E-Life, which grapples with the complex challenges of modern life through haunting soundscapes and post-rock textures. Following their previous release, Weight of Forever, E-Life marks a shift toward a more driving, ethereal sound. https://shadowmerge.bandcamp.com/ AJDA THE TURKISH QUEEN Ajda the Turkish Queen is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who typically performs on guitar and mandolin. Currently focused on solo endeavors including her forthcoming second solo album “Only Child", she will perform some of those very autumnal tunes at this show. She is founder of bands such as Black Fortress of Opium and the Ronnie James Dio tribute AjDIO. Influences include artists like Little Jimmy Scott, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Nico, Ute Lemper, Siouxsie Sioux, Ella Fitzgerald, and more, as well as the lonesome voices of Turkish muezzins. https://ajdatheturkishqueen.bandcamp.com/
