About this event

Museum Playdate is a monthly morning for young children and their caregivers to slow down, explore, and make things together. Free admission. No registration is required. Designed for children and their caregivers of all ages. The PMA welcomes Love Lab Studio to Museum Playdate in this special Lantern making workshop. In this special edition of Museum Playdate, we will collaborate with Love Lab Studio to create our own lanterns to share our light with our community. Make your special lantern today at the PMA, and then join us at Deering Oaks park on Sunday, October 25th for the Portland Lantern Walk! SUMMARY Third Thursday at the PMA is Art for All, with free admission all day and evening and opportunities to connect through creativity, community, and discovery. Join us in the galleries and PMA | AMP, a new, free community pavilion and public programming space. Visitors can create lanterns with Love Lab Studio as part of a community-wide project centered on sharing light and joy, explore a live printmaking demonstration inspired by Winslow Homer: Painter, Etcher, enjoy music from local DJ Jams FRRVER, and experience the galleries alongside family-friendly art-making and activities. From hands-on art to live music and artistic exploration, Third Thursday celebrates the power of creativity to bring people together.
