MSPIFF45: Renoir

MSPIFF, aka the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival, returns April 8-19, 2026 to celebrate their 45th anniversary with another awesome lineup of over 200 films from around the world, plus parties, panels, visiting filmmakers, and special guests galore. Renoir While her father is dying of cancer and her mother is busy working fulltime, independent 11-year-old Fuki is left on her own. Her imagination never fails her, and she begins to write stories, to obsess over telepathy and to explore the world in precarious ways. The sophomore feature from director Chie Hayakawa, set in 1980s Japan, is at once beautiful, warm and heartbreaking.
