MSPIFF45 Film Screening: A Bright Future

MSPIFF45 (the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival) presents a ticketed screening of A Bright Future on Sunday, April 12th at 3 pm in the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium. 18-year-old Elisa lives with her mother in a run-down section of a Uruguayan urban neighborhood where fumigations are routine and pets have disappeared. Elisa gets selected to go North, like her sister before her. While considered an honor, it turns out that no one may visit, and those who go never return. Elisa meets neighbor Leonor and grows disillusioned by the adaptation process she must undergo to prepare for the journey. Lucia Garibaldi’s offbeat dystopian tale is a rebellious trip into a strange, yet familiar world.
