About this event
Paul Klee’s monoprint technique involved drawing or tracing onto a transfer sheet—so that pressure would lift pigment onto paper, producing soft, irregular lines characteristic of his experimental printmaking. The instructor has expanded upon this technique by creating a process that allows students to incorporate their own imaginative elements, making each artwork unique. In this workshop you will create 5 monoprints using elements from famous works of art by Paul Klee, Picasso, Matisse and others. You will also create one or more black and white abstract monoprints using scraps of paper, string and your imagination. Participants will then add color to their monoprints using watercolors. One 5 x 7 frame will be provided. This will be a fun workshop where there are no mistakes. Every smudge becomes part of the finished work and every piece is worthy of framing. The class will be about 2.5 hours long and all supplies are provided. *Please plan to arrive on time or early. The class will start promptly at 9:30 AM. Price: $75.00
