MMM Lecture Series: Unraveling the Mysteries of a Michigan Dugout Canoe

Join us as former MMM curator Kenneth Pott reflects on the discovery and documentation of one of the Michigan Maritime Museum’s oldest artifacts, a 16 foot long dugout canoe. After the presentation, we will be officially premiering the canoe’s new display inside the Heritage Center, featuring a custom, professional grade artifact case and new interpretative panels to share the history of this rare indigenous-built vessel. Tickets are free for Museum members and $10 for non-members. Doors open at 6 PM. You can purchase tickets for this event online, over the phone, or in-person. This lecture series is made possible thanks to the Nielsen-Wells Grant Fund and Mike & Sue Smith. The virtual viewing is made possible thanks to Steve & Emily Holt. Reserve Tickets Here!
