Miracle League Benefit Event

This year, the YMCA of Indiana County is hosting our Inaugural Sports and Cash Bash to support the Miracle League of Indiana County. The Miracle League of Indiana County is more than a baseball field; it is a place where athletes of all abilities get to play, compete, belong, and be celebrated. Since the field opened in 2015, each season, approximately 150 youth and adult athletes with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities have had the opportunity each season to experience the joy of organized baseball in a field designed specifically for them. Families, caregivers, and nearly 100 volunteers come together to create a community where every player gets a chance to take the field. The Sports & Cash Bash is an opportunity to help protect that opportunity for the future. Sponsors and ticket purchasers aren’t simply supporting a fundraiser—they are investing in the long-term future of a program that provides inclusion, friendship, confidence, physical activity, and a true sense of belonging for athletes with disabilities throughout Indiana County. The proceeds from this inaugural event will be placed into the YMCA’s Miracle League reserve account and dedicated specifically to the future replacement of the Miracle League field. The current specialty surface has a limited useful life, and eventually the entire playing surface will need to be replaced. We anticipate that future replacement will cost $200,000 or more, making it critical that we begin preparing now. The YMCA is committed to maintaining the field, fundraising year-round, and setting aside resources so that when the time comes, the condition of the field does not become a barrier to participation.
