About this event
Kids, parents, teachers, and fans! Come meet Chloe Burgett, illustrator of the "A to Z Animal Mysteries" and the brand new book about Omaha Central Library, "A Place for Scamper." Chloe Burgett lives in Lincoln, Nebraska with her husband, Seth, and her orange cat, Pencil. Her work includes "Big, Bold, Beautiful Me" by Jane Yolen and Maddison Stemple-Piatt, "Cooler than Lemonade" by Harshita Jerath, "Potatoes for Pirate Pearl" by Jennifer Concepcion, and "Etta Extraordinaire" by Charnaie Gordon and Roda Ahmad. Danielle will discuss her books and her journey to becoming an illustrator. This talk is geared for kids but adults are welcome to attend. Midwest Lit Fest celebrates reading, storytelling, and creativity, designed to inspire young minds to explore their own voices through art and writing. Children in grades K-8 along with their teachers and caregivers are invited to individual interactive sessions with Jerry Craft, Vashti Harrison, Claribel Ortega and several local authors and illustrators as well as the Meet & Greet on Oct. 2 where all will be present. This is a free event for adults and for kids in grades K-8. Parents/caregivers must remain with their child(ren) for the duration of the program. Registration is required. The supervising adult(s) must also register. All Omaha Public Library locations are wheelchair accessible. Need sign language interpretation or other accessibility assistance for this event? Please email Nancy Novotny at NNovotny@omahalibrary.org to request accommodation. Requests must be made at least five business days before the activity or event.
