Get a free daily email with your area shows and low-ticket alerts.
What does it actually take to turn an idea into a real company? Join us at the Crews Center for an evening with Brian Swanson as he shares the origin story behind MaxIMS, the challenges of launching a business, and the lessons learned throughout the journey of building something from the ground up. This conversation will be less about code and technical deep-dives, and more about entrepreneurship, decision-making, persistence, and the real experiences that come with creating and launching a product. Whether you're a student, aspiring founder, developer, designer, or just curious about startups and innovation, this will be a great opportunity to hear an honest story from someone who’s gone through the process firsthand. Agenda: * Mix & Mingle (15 minutes): Meet new faces, grab some food, and connect with the local tech and startup community. * Founder Story & Discussion (60 minutes): Brian Swanson shares the story behind MaxIMS, how it got started, lessons learned, and what it really takes to launch a company. * Open Mic & Networking (30 minutes): ask questions, share ideas, meet other founders and creators, and continue the conversation. Additional Information: * Sponsors: Food is generously sponsored by Epicenter and the space is provided by The Crews Center for Entrepreneurship. * Parking: Convenient street parking is available. * RSVP: Please confirm your attendance through Meetup so we can plan accordingly for food and seating. We’d love to see you there!
