Memorial Day Service

About this event

@ Emporia and the surrounding communities will honor their fallen service members with a ceremony at the All the Veterans Memorial. The Emporia Municipal Band will perform preliminary music and the national anthem, which will be followed by an opening prayer, distinguished guest speakers, and a role call honoring those who have given their lives in service to their country. The public is invited to participate by placing wreaths and flowers at the flag poles or on the water, with a request to avoid artificial flowers in the water. The ceremony will conclude with a salute to departed comrades, featuring a firing squad tribute and the playing of Taps by the Emporia Municipal Band.
