Meet Author Greg Bilbrey at Chester Public Library

Please join us as author Greg Bilbrey introduces his book, Illinois on the River. Illinois may be known as prairie country, but there is also an Illinois shaped by its rivers. Through more than 160 photographs and accompanying “field notes,” Bilbrey explores the state’s working rivers and the history, industry, nature, communities, and individual enterprise connected to them. This collection of photo essays takes readers on a journey through places defined by their relationship with the water—and with what moves, and has moved, along it. Along the way, you’ll discover stories, surprises, and a rarely told history of Illinois as a land of working rivers. Please welcome Greg Bilbrey to Chester Public Library for an author presentation and book signing.
