Max won 2nd place in the 2019 Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz International Guitar Competition. His debut trio recording from 2020 — "Herplusme” on Red Piano Records — featured Simon Willson and Matt Honor. His sophomore recording from 2023 — “Henceforth” on Steeplechase Records features Noah Preminger, Dan Weiss and Kim Cass.
