About this event
Panic at the Paramount Presents MASTER PANCAKE VS. THE LOST BOYS The State Theatre Thursday, October 15, 2026 Doors: 6:30pm Show: 7:30pm For almost 20 years Master Pancake Theater has been riffing movies in the style of Mystery Science Theater 3000 at the Alamo Drafthouse, SXSW, Fantastic Fest, Moontower Comedy Festival and beyond. We’re pleased to be bringing one of our long-time favorites, THE LOST BOYS to the STATE. Grab your drinks and popcorn (be careful you’re not eating worms or maggots!) and enjoy as the comedians of Master Pancake lovingly roast Joel Schumacher’s 80's vampire action comedy. Set in the fictional beachside community of Santa Carla, the movie stars Corey Haim and Jason Patric as new-in-town brothers fighting peer pressure (and vampirism!), Dianne Wiest as their frazzled mom, and Kiefer Sutherland as the leader of the Bat Pack. And let’s not forget the colorful cast of locals, including beach beauty Star (Jami Gertz), the vampire-hunting Frog Brothers (Corey Feldman, Jamison Newlander) and the most glistening lead saxophone player to ever steal a movie in his short appearance at a beach-side concert (Tim Cappello). MASTER PANCAKE THEATER Master Pancake Theater is the resident movie-riffing troupe at the Alamo Drafthouse. Led by John Erler and a team of local and touring comedians, MPT has been roasting good and bad movies since 2007. They have appeared at SXSW and Fantastic Fest and can be seen every weekend at an Alamo Drafthouse in Austin. They perform every Wednesday and Thursday on their Twitch channel, tackling movies and episodes of Murder She Wrote. JOHN ERLER John Erler is a Jeopardy! champion and Austin-based comedian who has been roasting movies at Austin's Alamo Drafthouse for over 25 years, first as part of The Sinus Show, then as the leader of Master Pancake Theater.
