Mark Twain Museum Book Club: Tom Sawyer
Come celebrate the 150th anniversary of the publication of Tom Sawyer with our Museum Book Club! It’s the perfect year to read Tom for the first time or for the 100th time. In the preface of the book, Mark Twain wrote, “Part of my plan has been to try to pleasantly remind adults of what they once were themselves, and of how they felt and thought and talked, and what queer enterprises they sometimes engaged in.” Our Book Club is open to all; you don’t even have to read the book. Just come enjoy some discussion with other book lovers. Tom & Becky themselves may even show up to join the chat. Weather permitting, we will meet in the garden next to the Boyhood Home. If we need to move it indoors, we’ll go to the Museum Gallery Auditorium at 120 N Main St. We’ll announce that afternoon if it has to be moved.
