About this event

Which parts of Tucson feel like home to you? Which intersections hold memories? Where were you when you last watched a Tucson sunset? In this workshop, we’ll talk about the importance of place and geography in memoir, and generate new personal writing about memories in Tucson. Participants will have the option to publish a portion of their writing from this workshop in a collaborative blog post that uses memoir to map locations across the city. Mark your calendars. No registration required Courtney Gustafson is an author, community organizer, and cat rescuer who lives and works in Tucson, Arizona. A former academic, Courtney especially values writing communities that are accessible outside of academia, and has led writing workshops in prisons, refugee communities, and women’s shelters. Outside of writing, she organizes community-based animal welfare and mutual aid projects. Read more about the Writer in Residence program. The Writer in Residence Program is made possible by the Arizona State Library, Archives, and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
