Mama, He’s Crazy THE WORDS & MUSIC OF THE JUDDS March 19 – 21, 2027 “Wynonna and I couldn’t talk to each other, but, low and behold, we could sing together.” Naomi Judd In the 1980s, The Judds—the mother-daughter duo of Naomi and Wynonna—became country music’s most successful pair, releasing six RCA albums and earning 14 No. 1 singles, starting with their breakout hit, “Mama, He’s Crazy.” Their musical journey began in rural Kentucky. It was on that mountaintop that Wynonna learned to play guitar, and the two began to harmonize, blending Appalachian folk, bluegrass, and pop. Naomi, convinced of Wynonna’s talent, moved the family to Nashville., a contract soon followed. Wynonna’s powerful, blues-inflected voice appealed to audiences of all ages, established her as one of Country’s finest female duets. Seven years, eight CMA awards, five GRAMMY’s, and 20 million+ record sales later, Naomi retired for health reasons and the duo split, ending with a 1991 farewell tour. The last show was televised, drawing the largest Pay-per-View audience of all time.
