About this event
Do you want to get into making right away, but don't know where to begin? We will show you all the equipment, as well as what you need to know to be able to use it, what kind of software you will need to learn, and what you can and cannot do on each machine. Learn about 3D printers, the laser cutter, sewing machines, vinyl die cutters, and button makers available in PPLD’s makerspaces. Ages 9 and up. After completing this badging class, you will be able to use the 3D printers and laser cutter on your own during open hours at the makerspaces East and Sand Creek libraries, as well as Library 21c. If you are unable to attend this badging class or would prefer not to attend in person, a virtual badging option is available for the 3D printers and laser cutter. Makerspace classes can fill up quickly, so it is best to register close to when registration opens. If you are unable to register for this class, you can find other Makerspace Equipment Foundation classes at all three makerspaces. These classes are designed to give you a quick introduction to the machines. You will receive a badge granting permission to use the laser cutters and 3D printers at the end of this course. If you would like to learn the design software used by many of them, consider taking one of our Tinkercad Design Level 1 or Inkscape Design Level 1 classes. All participants must have their own library card. Please contact one of the makerspaces for more information.
