About this event
Come learn how to tie the Lucky Knot with Ahmoy Lau, a local artist. For hundreds of years, different cultures around the world have used knots to create protective symbols, clothing, and tools. Each participant will learn how to tie the lucky knot and incorporate beads, discs and other decorations to make a unique charm that reflects their own style. Ahmoy William Lau is an artist and educator based in Seattle. He uses traditional Chinese knot-tying techniques to create modern jewelry, and teaches art classes to youth, adults, families, and elders. He has taught workshops with the Henry Art Gallery, the Wing Luke Museum, and Reclaim Clay Collective. Learn more about his work at his website xiaoquilt.com. Please register. Walk-ins welcome as space allows.
