The son of jazz luminary Stephen McCraven (Yusef Lateef, Sam Rivers, Archie Shepp), Makaya McCraven has assimilated the seemingly disparate, yet inextricably tied, influences of post-Coltrane jazz and hip-hop’s most experimental fringes into a unique multi-dimensional approach.
