Curious about Mah Jongg, or looking for a fun, social new hobby? You’re in the right place! Presented by Hangout for Art in partnership with the JCC of the Lehigh Valley, this workshop is designed specifically for complete beginners and anyone who played years ago and wants a gentle, friendly refresher. We believe learning a new game should be fun and stress-free! We’ll walk through everything together at a comfortable pace so you can jump right in with confidence. What We’ll Cover Together: Getting familiar with the colorful tiles and what each symbol means How to read the annual card and choose a winning hand pattern Setting up the table and trading tiles to start your game The basic rhythm of turns, passing, and calling out tiles Skill Level: Absolute Beginners & Rusty Returning Players Official Card Required: Every player needs an official National Mah Jongg League card to play. You can order yours online in advance or purchase one directly at the studio when you arrive for class! All other game tiles and learning materials are provided.
