About this event
This is an introductory class on how to play American Mah Jongg in two parts. Attendees will be taught American style 4-persson Mah Jongg using the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) rules and the 2026 NMJL card. The curriculum will follow NMJL’s Instruction book, Mah Jongg Made Easy (revised 2024). This is a two-part series, and registrants will automatically be signed up for both sessions upon registration. In part one on November 1, we'll cover: + History + Game equipment + Tiles + NMJL Card + Game Setup + The Charleston And finish with guided play. In part two on November 8, we'll cover: + Quick 101 Review + Questions + House Rules vs NMJL Rules + Mah Jongg Courtesies + Defensive Strategies And finish with guided play.
