Magic the Gathering: Grown-Up Meet-Up!

About this event

Arts and Music Department. Come to Forbes for a casual meet-up for adults interested in the tabletop card game Magic: The Gathering! Curious about learning how to play, but not sure how to jump in? Know how it works but looking for other players, or a weeknight chance to get in a game or two? Want to geek-out about Yargle and Elspeth? Get into the nitty-gritty of unique game rules and card interactions? All are welcome! We'll likely be mostly playing the commander format - but if you have an interest in other formats, please come with whatever you're into and an enthusiasm to share. If you're coming to just learn the game, and the words "commander format" means nothing but head-scratching or intimidation - fear not! - the folks here will help with getting into the game with whatever level of play you're at - zero experience necessary! Bring your own cards to use if you have them, if not - that's ok, Forbes has cards to use at the library. This program is for adults, and meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 5:30-7:30 (library closes at 8, so we need to say it ends at 7:30 to make sure games get wrapped up in time) Meets in the Community Room in the basement, unless otherwise noted here. * MEETING AT THE TABLES ON THE 2nd FLOOR IN THE ARTS & MUSIC DEPARTMENT (by the photocopier, art books, and graphic novels) * Any questions, please email jvrysen@forbeslibrary.org
