Mag Mag

About this event

Something wicked is haunting the dating scene in Mag Mag, the wildly unhinged Japanese horror-comedy from first-time feature director Yuriyan Retriever! When Sanae’s beloved is murdered by the mysterious Mag Mag ghost, she sets out for revenge. But as she digs deeper into the strange string of deaths surrounding the spirit, she discovers that the people involved may have much more complicated connections than she ever imagined. A venomous twist on classic J-horror, Mag Mag has enough bizarre twists to keep you guessing until the last frame. Yuriyan Retriever’s feature debut has already made waves on the festival circuit, winning awards at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma and Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, while Sara Minami brings an appropriately unhinged energy to the center of it all.
