About this event

@ Historian Mark Torres’ book, Long Island and the Legacy of Eugenics: Station of Intolerance, covers the dark history of the eugenics program developed by the Eugenics Record Office at Cold Spring Harbor, New York, during the early 20th century and its spread throughout the nation and the world. Torres will discuss the local characters, influences, and ghastly consequences of this dangerous pseudoscience that emanated from this Long Island facility for decades, leading to a deadly global movement that still impacts us today. After his talk, Mark Torres will be selling and signing copies of his book. REGISTRATION This program is free for everyone! No admission is required. Space is limited, so registration is requested.
