She is a vocalist, songwriter, and recording artist, born in South Carolina, who started singing as a child in Seneca. She went on to study at the North Carolina School of the Arts and sang professionally in New York City with Opera Ebony. That formal training lets her move easily between jazz, soul, R&B, gospel, and classical music. As frontwoman of the Jamie Wright Band, she's known for big vocals, deep musicality, and real emotion. Most of all, she's known for connecting with the people in front of her. About ColaJazz Loft Sessions The Loft is Columbia's premier jazz listening room, an intimate space above Main Street.
