About this event
LIVE MUSIC 1-4PM featuring MARIA WOODFORD! Singer-songwriter Maria Woodford brings together the grit of the blues, the storytelling of folk, and the improvisation of jazz in music that feels both timeless and personal. Emerging from the 1990s anti-folk scene, Woodford has built a reputation for emotionally resonant performances and for surrounding herself with inventive, accomplished players. Her album Bad Dog Blues features a standout rendition of Nina Simone’s “Do I Move You,” a version so respected that Simone’s daughter personally granted Woodford recording rights- one of only two artists ever approved. With her soul-reaching voice, thoughtful songwriting, and dynamic live presence, Maria Woodford creates a live experience that’s both intimate and full of energy.
