Live at Lanier: Ghostwriter Revealed

About this event

Beth Brand will shed light on the history, business, and personal motivations behind the profession of ghostwriting during a Live@Lanier program at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Lanier Library. Brand, a certified ghostwriter and book coach, will discuss a profession with a history that stretches back centuries. Mozart, for example, wrote music that was credited to and performed under the names of patrons. Event organizers say ghostwriters have also played roles in works ranging from papal encyclicals to “Profiles in Courage” and the “Nancy Drew” and “Hardy Boys” mystery series. Brand’s work, however, focuses primarily on nonfiction subjects, including business management, entrepreneurship, economics, neonatal care, raising teenagers, and self-improvement. She spent about 15 years working in public relations and developing marketing plans for clients before beginning her career as a ghostwriter. The Live@Lanier program will take place at Lanier Library, located at 72 Chestnut St. Seating limited to 50- organizers recommend registering in advance to ensure a seat. Register Here! ♦
