Little Learners STEM: Build a Bug Hotel!

Calling all little scientists, nature lovers, and curious explorers! Join us for a hands-on STEM adventure where we’ll learn about some of the tiny creatures that help our world and build a bug hotel for them to enjoy. But what exactly is a bug hotel? It’s a small shelter made from natural materials that can provide a safe place for helpful insects and other tiny garden visitors to rest, hide, and sometimes make their homes. We’ll explore the different materials bugs might like, talk about where insects live, and discover why these tiny creatures are important to our gardens and ecosystems. Then it’s time to get building! Little learners will use a variety of materials to design and create their very own mini bug hotel to take home. Expect plenty of creativity, hands-on exploring, and a little bit of mess as we build our tiny habitats! This activity encourages observation, problem-solving, fine-motor skills, creativity, and early scientific thinking while giving kids a chance to learn about the natural world around them.
