Linda's Friendsgiving 2026

I'm thankful for all of my friends! Let's celebrate with a Friendsgiving at the Octagon Shelter. This will be the fourth year, although last year's was cancelled due to the government shutdown. Please bring a dish to share. Agenda 11:30-12:30 set up 12:30 eat 2:30 hike (optional) 5:30 out of shelter; after party? The shelter is enclosed and heated with two big fireplaces, firewood provided. While it isn’t cold, warm clothing is advised. There are picnic tables but camp chairs are a good idea. Bathrooms with running water are there, too. There is electricity, but to avoid a power blow-out, primarily we will use chafing trays. I have some stands and will bring plenty of fuel. Anyone who can lend some chafing stands and/or pans, please do! If your dish needs to be kept warm, please bring it in a half-chafing tray like the one in the link below, along with serving utensils. Plates, napkins and eating utensils will be provided. We have three turkeys coming! If it’s warm enough, bring outdoor games like cornhole. I’ll bring giant jenga. I can’t wait to see all of you and for all of us to catch up and be grateful together. Ps if you can’t come until later, still do!
