Conference Room 1, South Regional Library. Write your life stories!... Adventures you’ve had... Tough times you’ve endured... Small blessings that bring you gratitude. Facilitator, Earlene Broussard Echeverria, provides weekly topics to encourage inspiration, and each session includes participants who choose to volunteer to read a page or two of written memories. This program does not include editing & publishing your work. You decide how and when to share it. Wednesdays, 1pm to 3pm, September 2nd - November 18th Important things to know about Life Writing at SRL Fall Session: September 2nd - November 18th Weekly on Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm Location: Conference Room at South Regional Library Earlene Broussard Echeverria – Facilitator and retired language teacher. Bill French – Adult Services Librarian II. Library representative and program leader. History This writing circle continues with a tradition begun twenty-something years ago at ULL. It’s dedicated to remembering personal memories, writing them down, and sharing them with others in the circle. Key Objectives Connection: Building community through shared life experiences and active listening. Creativity: Offering a structured, safe, and supportive environment for creative writing and storytelling. Legacy: Creating a record of personal histories, giving voice to a variety of perspectives. Process and Approach Be kind, respectful, and patient with one another. We adhere to the library’s patron behavior policy. Use the facilitator’s writing prompts found below or write off-topic from the prompt. Everyone’s stories must be written or typed out. All handwritten or electronic documents are welcome. There is a two-page limit. Be mindful that everyone has time to share. You can always break up longer stories into multiple parts to share at another meeting. It is okay to read writings you have already read in the past. Feel free to provide additional explanation about your writings, but please…
