Let's go to the Atlanta Botanical Garden! A botanical garden โ or botanic garden โ is a place where plants are cultivated for display, education, research, conservation and enjoyment. Atlanta is home to one of the nation's best. In a year of anniversaries, what better way to celebrate the Gardenโs 50th than an encore exhibition of artist Niki de Saint Phalleโs monumental sculptures that debuted at the Garden 20 years ago this spring. The French sculptor, who died in 2002, was known as one of the first female sculptors of massive works, particularly her โNanasโ โ light-hearted, whimsical and colorful large-scale sculptures of females, animals and monsters. This yearโs exhibition, presented May 9 โ September 6, will feature 41 works in whatโs believed to be the largest showing of the artistโs art ever presented in North America. Most will be on loan from the Niki Charitable Art Foundation and others from private collections. https://atlantabg.org/calendar/niki-in-the-garden We'll meet out front of the gates, and go in together. Wear good shoes, it's a lot of walking. It will be hot, and no outside food or drinks are allowed inside, but there are plenty of places to get a cool drink in the garden. Buy your tickets online ahead of time to save a couple of bucks. https://atlantabg.org/tickets Tickets are $32.95 online, make sure you buy for the right day! Expect to take a lot of photos, this place is so pretty and so many great spots for pics. Parking is in a garage on site, and charges are by the half hour. 3 hours is $11. We'll try to set up carpools in "All Things Atlanta" on the LGA Discord closer to the day. If you get lost, call or text Tracy - 404-271-9657
