The film follows a woman fresh from an insane asylum who's almost immediately questioning her sanity after her husband and friends don't seem to notice that the sexy hippy who's been crashing in their island getaway home is obviously a monster. Unlike most films with similar premises, this is a deeply thoughtful look at mental illness, infidelity, fear, and loneliness all wrapped up with some (not so) subtle queer subtext.
