Let's Get Lit-erary Book Club

Meeting room. Each year, Omaha Public Library encourages the community to join together in reading one book as part of Omaha Reads. This year we invite you to read "Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt. Join us this month for a lively discussion of the Omaha Reads title. OPL Book Club discussions are led by OPL staff and are open to everyone. A luminous debut novel about a widow's unlikely friendship with a giant Pacific octopus reluctantly residing at the local aquarium-and the truths she finally uncovers about her son's disappearance 30 years ago. Omaha Reads promotes literacy and provides the City with a common theme to discuss. One book is selected through a public vote and promoted through book talks, author visits, and related programs. Copies of “Remarkably Bright Creatures” can be reserved for checkout from the OPL catalog. All Omaha Public Library locations are wheelchair accessible.
