Legal Wellness Clinic

2nd Floor Desk. When was your last legal check-up? You see a doctor regularly even when we're not sick. Why not a lawyer when you're not in a court case? A new local non-profit legal aid, the Legal Wellness Clinic, is partnering with the Addison Public Library to bring free legal check-ups to the library. They will ask you a series of questions, then provide you with a Legal Wellness Plan that highlights any areas of concern where the law might impact you, and some referrals for next steps. You will have the opportunity to talk to a licensed attorney about your plan and ask any questions about it. The process takes 45 minutes and is completely free. First-come, first-served. The check-up will cover these common issue areas: immigration, housing, family, employment/public benefits, debt/credit/consumer, and future/safety planning.
