Legacy Society Luncheon: Learn to Avoid Scams

Scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated, making it more important than ever to know how to recognize the warning signs and protect yourself and those you care about. Join us for the Legacy Society/Pastoral Care Lunch on October 11, featuring Vasilije Sagnovic, Community Resource Officer with the Paradise Valley Police Department, who will present “Scam Awareness.” Officer Sagnovic will share practical information about financial fraud, computer and online safety, and fraudulent phone calls and text messages, including common tactics scammers use to create urgency, impersonate trusted organizations, and obtain personal or financial information. The Paradise Valley Police Department advises residents to be especially cautious of callers demanding immediate payment or personal information and to independently verify suspicious requests before taking action. Come learn what red flags to watch for, what steps you can take to protect your accounts and personal information, and what to do if you believe you or someone you know has been targeted.
