For Lee Ritenour, there aren’t many ‘firsts’ left to achieve. A California native, Ritenour started on guitar at the age of eight. By sixteen, he was in the Los Angeles recording studios working with top musicians twice his age and experience. A founding member of Fourplay – with Harvey Mason, Nathan East and Bob James – Ritenour’s smooth, melodic style has inspired an entire generation of guitarists. During his dazzling five-decade career, the fabled LA guitarist has taken his music to the outer limits, alighting on every genre and occupying every position in the rock & roll firmament. He’s been an ‘enfant terrible’ of seventies fusion, a crossover star of eighties pop, an honorary exponent of Brazilian jazz, and the fingers behind nineties supergroup Fourplay.
