Leathercraft in the Workshop with Bri Brant

Join us on Saturday, December 5th from 9:30AM—12:00PM for a leather workshop led by industrial designer and Arden + James founder Bri Brant in the 1956 Workshop. During the two-hour workshop beginning at 10:00 AM, participants will have the opportunity to design, create, and emboss bracelets, ornaments, small wallets, bookmarks, and other leather goods ahead of the holiday season. Come make a gift for yourself or someone special in your life! Guests will also enjoy a look at rarely-seen Esherick leatherwork including a bifold pocket chess designed and made by the artist for playing on-the-go.The Main Gallery of Esherick’s Studio will be open to participants in the half-hour before the program begins from 9:30–10:00AM. Tools and materials will be supplied by WEM. However, if participants have a beloved piece of object made out of leather, they are more than welcome to bring it along for re-use or decoration. Participants of all skill levels and backgrounds are welcome. Participants will also go home with a bag of leather pieces to continue working with. Truck Show: In addition, during the run of the workshop, Bri will also be hosting a trunk show in the museum’s Visitor Center where participants can explore and purchase Arden + James’ newest work and work made exclusively for WEM. No reservations are required to shop the trunk show open in the Visitor Center during the run of the program.
