About this event
Interested in turning your favorite stones, gems, and keepsakes into wearable art? Try wire wrapping! In this program you will learn about the tools and supplies needed for wire wrapping. Kirin will guide you through selecting a stone, using a variety of pliers, creating a setting, and finally setting the stone for a wearable pendant or charm. After learning the basics in this program, you can use your new skills to explore wire wrapping small toys, mementos, or even collectibles- the sky's the limit! Kirin Kane (they/them) is a mixed media sculpture and installation artist. Kirin holds a BFA in Ceramics from Northern Illinois University and has exhibited in venues across the country, including Woman Made Gallery, The Clay Art Center, Barkan Gallery, LUX Center for the Arts, and Belger Arts Center.
