GIS stands for Geographic Information Systems, which is a system for creating, editing, analyzing, storing, and mapping geospatial data. Sound interesting? Want to know more? The STPG GIS District and the St. Tammany Parish Library invite you to register for a 4-part workshop series for both teens aged 16 and up and adults. Members of the STPG GIS District will lead patrons in learning about GIS mapping, GIS careers and education paths, how to use ESRI software and develop web maps using GIS. Session 1: Intro to the project, GIS overview and career paths Session 2: Create a Basic Web Map Session 3: Create an Intermediate Map (Dashboard) Session 4: Presentation of projects Please note that you must be available to participate in all 4 sessions as the project will be built upon during each session. Registration is limited to adults and teens ages 16+.
