About this event
Heinrich will share a number of monoprint layering processes with backgrounds and the transfer of imagery with paper lithography, from inked up xerox/laser copies. This is a non-toxic, quick and easily attainable way to create a plate to print from that can yield some beautiful results. The class is fit for printmakers, collage artists, photographers and image makers wanting to create unique one off pieces and push their work further. Students are asked to bring their own copies around the themes of place and memory so that they will have the ability to print with their personal library of images. Building layers using color, composition and imagery printed on the press, participants will explore a variety of materials and methods to create depth and space between backgrounds and foregrounds to create luscious and layered monoprints. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
