Laura Anglade

We are pleased to welcome back New York-based jazz chanteuse Laura Anglade celebrating the release of her new album, “Something’s Coming”. Anglade’s artistry has long been rooted in the Great American Songbook, but musical theater sits at the heart of her new project. Rather than approaching show tunes as fixed standards, she inhabits them as characters, scenes, and emotional landscapes. Anglade’s artistry has long been rooted in the Great American Songbook, but musical theater sits at the heart of her new project. Rather than approaching show tunes as fixed standards, she inhabits them as characters, scenes, and emotional landscapes. She will be accompanied at the Academy by Greg Ruggiero (guitar), Jonathan Chapman (bass), and Ben Zweig (drums). Anglade is originally from the village of Brousse-le-Château in the south of France, though she grew up in the United States and spent several years living in Canada. Her performances are a reflection of her roots: rich in simplicity, an appreciation for the past, and finding wonder in ordinary moments. “Something’s Coming” arrives after a milestone year for Anglade, whose 2025 album “Get Out of Town” won Vocal Jazz Album of the Year at the 2026 JUNO Awards. She also reached broader audiences with performances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #LateShowMeMusic and The Kelly Clarkson Show. Rather than treating that momentum as a finish line, this release opens the door to a broader, more theatrical chapter of her work. Tickets Spencertown Academy Arts Center’s programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
