The second installment is a special chance to experience the evolution of Beethoven’s towering genius at the keyboard. Lang Lang treats listeners to the delightfully droll Second Piano Concerto, which Beethoven wrote for his public debut concert in Vienna, and the stormy and rapturous Third, with its nods to revolutionary-era marches.
