Nestled in an intimate listening room (inside Dog House Music Studios) in Lafayette, CO you'll experience small-batch performance right from the studio. The Living Room Sessions is a twice-monthly concert series for local live music fans highlighting musicians who are creating and reinventing the local music scene. Feel free to stop by one of Lafayette’s local restaurants for dinner, or get takeout delivered right to the door! HUNDRED POUND HOUSECAT delivers a foot-stomping mix of originals and decades old blues songs. Melly Frances’ vocals sound like a beautiful, eerie 78 one minute and a ragged howl the next. Keke Lee punctuates Melly’s powerful vocals with slide guitar reminiscent of Tampa Red or Johnny Shines and Melly holds down the rhythm for the duo with a mix of bass, washboard and stomp box. Never content to replicate the past, this Colorado blues duo marshals their influences to offer a fresh, exciting take on the blues. As a volunteer you’ll help the audio engineer and studio staff set up and reset the studio - turning it from a recording space into a live music venue and back into a recording space!
