About this event

This event is intended for an adult audience. No tech background or expertise needed; all are welcome. Artificial Intelligence now impacts nearly every part of our lives: from medicine, shopping and entertainment to travel, and even the way we communicate. Yet for many, AI still feels like a mystery. In this easy-to-follow session, we’ll unpack what AI is, how it’s being used, and what this all means for you. We'll also explore AI-based scams, which are expected to soon total $40 billion per year, with the average person losing $83,000. Whether you're curious, cautious, or just want to keep up with the grandkids, you'll leave with real answers and plenty of space for questions — and the tools to spot scams, avoid misinformation, and protect the people you care about. About the Presenter: Quinn Rose is a former journalist, who now works in communications/production for clients like The Discovery Channel, Daimler Electric Vehicles, the National Parks Department, and more. Originally from Portland, she has lived (and worked) all over the world, including reporting courtside at the Olympics in Rio and producing educational videos in Cape Town. She's been in Bend for several years, and used to visit often as a kiddo. Quinn is passionate about helping people stay safe (and sane) in the Age of AI. Questions?
