Kirtan with Parvati and Marc

Join Parvati and Marc to chant sacred mantra. Experience the energy and vibrations of communal singing, connecting to the Divine and each other in this meditative, peaceful, uplifting practice of Bhakti Yoga. All are welcome. No previous experience is required. Chant sheets will be available. This is an event in the spirit of dana (generosity/giving freely). The suggested donation is $25, but no-one will be turned away for lack of funds. Location: 308 E Prince St., St. Paul Room #246 (second floor). Chairs and meditation cushions available. About the artists: Parvati (Pascale LaPoint) has been on the bhakti path since 2008. She has chanted with the Midwest community during many events and festivals under the band name “Kirtan Path.” She and her husband, Doug, had been leading kirtan together for more than 7 years until his sudden death in early 2025. Parvati is a follower of the great Indian saint Baba Neem Karoli. She received her spiritual name from Shri Siddhi Ma in 2016. Marc Anderson is a Twin Cities based musician, composer, Zen priest and poet. He has studied, performed and recorded music all over the world with hundreds of great artists including: Angelique Kidjo, Robert Fripp, Steve Tibbetts, Don Cherry, Max Roach and Taj Mahal. He founded and directs the M2 Foundation which advocates for a more mindful and compassionate world. And he is on staff in the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life at Macalester College.
